Sacred Heart Mission is a community of dedicated people working together to end homelessness, deep and disadvantage and social exclusion. Our strength lies in our shared purpose and values. We welcome individuality and support each other to bring our best and whole selves to the work we do each day.
Join us in making a meaningful difference in a fun and friendly organisation with a big heart.
Our Wellbeing and Activities program offers structured activities and opportunities for residents to improve their health and wellbeing, to engage in social participation, and to build confidence. As our new Leisure and Health Assistant you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of individual and group activities.
In this part-time role, you’ll work Thursdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with the possibility of additional shifts in the future.
A typical day will involve facilitating set agreed activity sessions (both individual and group based within your skillset) as defined by the weekly program. This could range from a variety of sessions including drama, art and music, coffee mornings, footy tipping, dementia specific activities, musical bingo or bus outings.
Beyond activities, you’ll also play a practical role in supporting residents’ day-to-day needs. This might include helping them with clothing or other personal lifestyle requirements. You’ll also assist with sorting and accepting donations, ensuring that everything we offer meets our high standards of care and respect.
