Your new role

Bethlehem Community is located in Reservoir and provides stable, short-to-medium-term accommodation and support for women who have experienced homelessness, addiction, mental health challenges, or social isolation. Our 10-bed supported accommodation in Reservoir offers meals, room cleaning, daily living skills development, recreation, and case management.

As a part-time Residential Support Worker, you'll empower women to regain independence, develop life skills, and build social connections in a safe, home-like environment.

Please note, due to the participant group, we are only seeking female applicants for this position (see appendix for exemption to Equal Opportunity Act 2010 below).

Your day-to-day

No two days are the same, but your responsibilities will include:

• Providing support in accordance with residents' individual support plans.
• Assisting with daily living activities, meals, and house maintenance.
• Encouraging social inclusion and participation in community activities.
• Ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all residents.

We're looking for someone with

• Flexibility to work across a 24/7 roster including day shifts, weekends and sleepover shifts (Essential)
• Experience in residential care, community services, or related fields.
• Understanding of and respect for participants accessing services.
• Ability to adapt to participants' needs effectively and include the voice of the participant while supporting them.
• Ability to work effectively and communicate well in a small team.
• Commitment to working within a feminist, person-centred, strength’s based and culturally responsive practice framework.
