LOCATION: Melbourne – Hybrid role negotiable (Heidelberg preferred)
SUPERVISOR/MANAGER: CFO
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for overall finance functions of the organization, including management reporting, audit support, budgeting, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll.
- Support the workload and outputs of the finance team to ensure financial processes and records are maintained and delivered in an accurate and timely manner including:
- Timely payment of accounts payable
- Production and distribution of invoices for services rendered
- Management of accounts receivables
- General ledger and bank reconciliations on a frequent basis ensuring that all accounts reconcile
- Maintain Fixed asset register
- Monitoring of the accounts email account and main phone line
- Preparation of the PAYG employee payroll remittances to the Australian Tax Office and superannuation payments as prescribed by the Australian Taxation Office.
- Preparation of the monthly Business Activity Statement (BAS) as prescribed by the Australian Taxation Office
- Payroll services including payroll systems, maintenance of employee databases and entitlements, and the management of Fringe Benefits as they relate to employee entitlements and employer requirements, ie:
- Ensure the accurate and efficient processing of payroll for all staff each week
- Maintain accurate long service leave, annual leave and personal leave liabilities and report high balances to the CEO
- Complete and distribute year end Payment Summaries to staff
- Respond to queries from staff and NDIS participants
- Participant in the end of year financial audit
- Assist CFO to obtain relevant financial information, advice and modelling to support business unit reporting, growth proposals and forward planning.
- Ensure that NDIS funding relevant to each participant’s plan is claimed as per the NDIS price guide and internal guidelines.
- Ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
- Ensure assets are appropriately valued and registered
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 3 years’ accounting experience and professional membership e.g.: CPA Australia (CPA), Institute of Chartered Accountants or Chartered Institute of Management Accounts (CIMA)
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience using XERO
- Advanced experience using Microsoft Excel
- Minimum 3 year’s Accounts Payable and Accounts receivable experience
- Experience in NDIS Claiming is highly regarded via PACE/PRODA
- Strong experience in business analysis and interpretation of data
- Knowledge of managing small-to-medium organisation’s accounting, tax and statutory compliance requirements
- Exceptional time management and communication skills – both written and verbal
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly with excellent attention to detail and a passion for helping others.
- Cultural competency in working with individuals from diverse communities
- Self-starter with the ability to work with limited supervision
- Strong attention to detail
