About the Role:

As a Telehealth and Online Mental Health Recovery Planner at SANE Australia, you will work collaboratively with participants to understand their needs and goals, creating personalised recovery plans with each Guided Recovery participant.

You will provide recovery-oriented psychosocial support that is trauma informed and person-centred. You will work with a team of Recovery Planners to:

  • Do detailed risk and needs assessments
  • Use and understand recovery measures
  • Design recovery and safety plans with participants
  • Help manage transitions within SANE programs
  • Provide therapeutic support for complex and priority participants

Work Arrangement:

This role is based in Sydney. After you complete your initial training and induction, you can work in a hybrid setup, which means you can work from home some of the time but will need to work on-site as well.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Work with people with complex mental health issues, their supporters, families, and carers to carry out detailed biopsychosocial assessments and recovery planning. Support participants in moving through our Guided Recovery program, helping them transition to the right support teams and group programs as outlined in their recovery plans
  • Manage a small caseload of participants with very complex needs, offering case-management and individual counselling support using evidence-based methods
  • Conduct suicide risk assessments and safety planning according to SANE’s procedures
  • Use evidence-based methods to support mental health recovery
  • Show strong commitment, integrity, and careful decision-making in all aspects of your work

What you will need to succeed in the role:

  • Registration with one of the following professional bodies: AHPRA-Psychology, PACFA–minimum provisional working toward full registration, ACA-minimum level 2, AASW/AMHSW membership.
  • Tertiary qualification in social work, occupational therapy, psychology or counselling.
  • A minimum of two years relevant mental health work experience post qualification.
