The Sexual Assault Support Service (SASS) is a not-for-profit organisation committed to creating a healthy, safe Tasmania free from sexual violence.

SASS services include specialised therapeutic support for survivors of sexual violence and their supporters, and primary prevention education and training for schools, organisations, institutions, and communities. Together, we are building a future where respect and safety are at the centre of every Tasmanian community.

SASS is seeking a passionate, energetic and committed Primary Prevention Educator to join our team. This is a part-time position (ideally 0.8 FTE), fixed term position (12-18 months) located in Hobart, with some flexibility including partial working from home arrangements.

SASS encourages you to apply for this role if you have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Education, Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or other relevant field, or Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or Diploma of Training Design and Development
  • Excellent presentation delivery and learner engagement skills
  • Working knowledge of trauma informed practice and an understanding of the effects of sexual trauma on people and the community
  • Ability to work with a high level of professionalism and autonomy within a flexible team environment
  • Experience or a passion for engaging with a range of individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
  • A current National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People Card, along with full legal rights to work in Australia are requirements for all SASS employees
