  • Salary: $92,941 per annum pro rata (plus 17% superannuation)

About the Role

The Consultant: Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment (SASH) will be a key member of the Employee Relations team, supporting us in delivering on our commitment to provide a virtually and physically safe environment in which to work and study. The Consultant: SASH will play a key role in coordinating the University’s response to complaints of sexual assault and sexual harassment involving staff members. You will act as the key contact for staff making disclosures or reports, providing information and advice as part of the University’s sexual assault and sexual harassment framework, and providing staff support and information during the progress of formal processes. Working closely with a range of stakeholders across the University, you will actively contribute to providing a safe, inclusive environment that is free from sexual assault and sexual harassment (SASH) at the University.

Core Responsibilities

  • Act as the key contact and support for staff members making reports of sexual assault or sexual harassment
  • Coordinate formal processes, communications, and case management and provide advice on support services.
  • Develop materials and resources for staff communication and training initiatives including induction materials, mandatory training requirements and staff facing communications.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and improvement of systems and processes for preventing, identifying, and responding to SASH complaints.
  • Contribute to the development of the University’s annual SASH Action Plan
  • Provide advice to members of the University community on the SASH Policy and Procedures and how they apply to staff-related complaints of SASH.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, Criminal Justice, or a relevant discipline and/or an equivalent combination of extensive relevant experience and training in organisational wellbeing and support service functions
  • Experience and understanding of survivor-centric, trauma informed approaches to sexual assault and sexual harassment complaints and supports
  • Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures, develop strategies, adopt a continuous improvement framework and prepare reports using data from a variety of information sources in order to advise senior management
