Our experienced Transactional & Treasury Accounting team undertakes all aspects of transactional & treasury activities including cashflow management, supplier and vendor compliance & payments, donor recording and forecast preparation as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Use your expertise to champion Save the Children financial policies, standards and procedures to see our managers sleep soundly, our beneficiaries well served and our donors happy with the results.​​

Where you come in:

In this full-time fixed-term position based in Melbourne, you will manage the Treasury & Transaction team. You will be part of our Financial Control team and report to our Financial Controller.

You will make an impact by:

  • Leading the Transaction Accounting Team to ensure accounting transactions are processed accurately and on time, with a customer centric approach 
  • Preparing and reviewing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Managing bank reconciliation processes including donation data entry through our CRM system
  • Creating and monitoring key metrics to track performance and service levels
  • Managing and reporting cash flow position and forecasting
  • Working with the mindset of continuous improvement

You are motivated and passionate with the ability to bring creative solutions to the table, drive a positive team culture, and maintain a strong customer service focus. You are process driven, ensuring finance procedures and accounting principles are adhered to, and have strong negotiation skills that make you comfortable holding others to account. You work well under pressure in a proactive manner and have proven success in embedding continuous improvement in the workplace.

This role requires:

  • Tertiary qualification Business or Accounting (Qualified CA or CPA is desirable)
  • Experience in team management and leadership
  • Considerable experience in bank reconciliations and other transaction accounting related balance sheet reconciliations
  • Demonstrated experience working in a high-volume transaction accounting team
  • Proven record of identifying and suggesting areas for process improvements
  • Experience in training a diverse workforce in accounting processes resulting in high customer satisfaction
