Save the Children's retail network offers customers, excellent quality recycled clothing, footwear, bric a brac, toys, books and much more. Run entirely by volunteers our shop network in WA is rapidly expanding and we need you to join our fantastic group of support staff in the retail operations team. The Area Manager role is a vital and pivotal role in ensuring the success of our existing and future network of shops.

This role is ideal for an existing area manager, cluster manager or senior store manager looking to take the next step in their retail career. If you are passionate about people and retail, are highly organised and want to contribute to an amazing and well-respected cause this role is for you.

Where you come in:

In this full time, permanent position based in our Malaga office, you will be responsible for ensuring that the stores in the Western Australian network are running efficiently and effectively delivering the required results for Save the Children.

You will be an integral part of our Western Australian Retail team and report to our Retail Operations Manager for Western Australia. Daily travel within metropolitan Perth will be required, as well as occasional weekend and evening work.

You will make an impact by:

  • Effectively managing profit and loss performance for all stores in your area
  • Manage merchandise and stock to maximise sales
  • Ensure all operational and safety compliance
  • Manage your teams of store volunteers to success
  • Train, mentor and induct your team of volunteers
  • Support the retail team to achieve goals and deliver maximised profits to Save the Children Australia

This role requires:

  • Exceptional merchandising and stock management skills
  • Staff/volunteer management experience
  • Highly organised and adaptable approach
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • A motivated individual willing to use their initiative to resolve problems
  • And an absolute passion for retail
