SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
- Lived experience as an Asian migrant sex worker and understanding of the principles of sex worker rights.
- In-depth knowledge of anti-trafficking and migration legislation, policies, and the rescue industry and their impact on sex workers.
- Proven experience in policy consultation, research, analysis, and policy development.
- Ability to work collaboratively to resolve complex issues with a range of stakeholders, including those with differing views.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, demonstrating strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills.
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills with the ability to produce clear reports, briefs, and discussion papers.
- Excellent organisational, project management, and time management skills with the capacity to manage concurrent projects.
- Proficiency in digital tools including Google Workspace and Microsoft Office.
- A strong commitment to ethical, sensitive engagement with diverse community groups.
- Willingness and ability to travel interstate or intrastate as required.
Desirable (not essential)
- Experience in developing and implementing media responses and public communications.
- Experience in advocacy, lobbying, or stakeholder engagement at a government or institutional level.
- Fluency in a language other than English, particularly a language commonly spoken by Asian migrant sex workers in Australia.
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in migrant and sex worker rights, human rights, law, policy, social sciences, or a related field.
- Experience working or volunteering in a community organisation.
