Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health is a not-for-profit community health organisation providing a comprehensive range of free and low-cost health, wellbeing and community services in early childhood, youth, families, adults, aged and disability.
Covering an area of over 1700 km2 from Sunbury to beyond the borders of Macedon Ranges Shire our 200 staff and 70 volunteers are based across four sites at Kyneton, Romsey, Sunbury.
The organisation has a proud history of delivering community health services to the region for over 40 years. Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health builds the social fabric of our communities through diverse services and programs that help people support themselves and each other.
We are excited about this new role and opportunity to join Sunbury and Cobaw Community Health. The Service Navigator (Adolescent Boys Family Violence) is a position made available through our partnership with Berry St, Uniting and Care First Support Services. The program is funded by the Australian Government through its commitment to establishing a new national early intervention trial for young men and boys aged 12 to 18 years who present with adverse childhood experiences including family and domestic violence, and who are using or at risk of using family, domestic or sexual violence.
The Service Navigator will identify local opportunities to engage young adolescent males experiencing or at risk of using family, domestic and sexual violence and facilitate referrals into the Berry St Take Two therapeutic response and actively link the young person and their family to a variety of community support services beyond individual therapy. The position will be embedded in our Community Mental Health Family Violence Team and work closely with Service Navigators and clinicians in the partner agencies.
If you are an experienced practitioner in the field of family violence, are dedicated to changing the trajectory of young men at risk of using family or domestic violence and are excited by an opportunity to work in a new initiative exploring innovative ways of working then we would love to hear from you.
Our benefits enhance everyday wellbeing and encourage you to take time to make a difference in the community:
The successful candidate will be required to undertake and maintain a National Criminal History Check (NCHC), NDIS Safety Screening check, Working with Children Check and hold valid Australian Working Rights.
