We are currently seeking multiple Disability Support Workers in the broader Gympie region to support individuals of all ages with a disability to live a meaningful and fulfilling life and to help deliver accessible, compassionate, reliable and high-quality services to participants.
Your duties with SCILL will vary greatly, depending on the person you are supporting, and will include lifestyle support, daily living support, community access, healthcare support etc.
With the bonus of a Salary Sacrifice package up to $18,550 per year to maximise take home pay.
GENERAL
- Be aware and take personal responsibility for the safety of yourself and the people you support, reporting all hazards and incidents to management.
- Identify risks and hazards in the workplace and minimise or remove in a timely manner.
- Be punctual, accountable, proactive, and efficient across all environments.
- Be a good role model and promote positive behaviours.
- Utilise sound organisational and planning skills.
- Work autonomously and seek support when required.
- Always act in a way that is in the best interest of the participant and their families.
- Respect the participant’s dignity, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Accurately record shift reports after every shift, and incident/hazard reports as needed.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- High level of initiative & great problem-solving skills.
- Have demonstrated an ability to view people with disability as valued individuals with human rights.
- Are committed to a person-centred approach.
- Certificate in disability work, aged care or desire to obtain.
- Smartphone with internet access and ability to send short reports as emails.
- Current NDIS Worker Clearance (or be willing to obtain)
- Current Working with Children’s Card (or be willing to obtain)
- Current First Aid Certificate with CPR (or be willing to obtain)
- National Police check obtained within the last 12 months.
- Valid Queensland Driver license and access to registered, insured vehicle.
- Able to work in Australia with no restrictions on hours.
- Can commit to the same time and days each week
