Position Overview

The General Manager of Operations will provide strategic leadership and direction for the efficient and compassionate operation of the in-home aged care provider service.

This role encompasses managing staff, ensuring client-centred care, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive and supportive environment for both clients and employees.

Responsibilities:

Manage the daily operations of our in-home aged care service, encompassing Support at Home, CHSP, and HACC-PYP programs. Develop and implement operational policies and procedures that ensure client satisfaction while complying with government regulatory guidelines and upholding the highest standards of care. You will also work closely with medical professionals and care teams to create personalised care plans for each client. Additional responsibilities will include:

  • Leading staff to ensure they are motivated, engaged and highly skilled
  • Monitoring and evaluating service quality and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and quality assurance
  • Working with the CFO to ensure services and programs are financially sustainable
  • Ensuring channels of communication with clients and carers are open and transparent and timely

About you:

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Healthcare Administration,, or a related field, complemented by proven leadership experience in managing in-home aged care services, or healthcare organisations. A strong understanding of aged care regulations, compliance, accreditation, and Aged Care Standards is essential. The role requires excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills, coupled with an empathetic and compassionate approach to in-home aged care and staff management, whilst maintaining a risk mindset. Additionally, the successful applicant will demonstrate strong financial acumen and budget management skills to effectively oversee the organisation's resources.
