Australian Multicultural Community Services (AMCS) is a multicultural community care organisation caring for Victorian seniors from over 50 countries. Its mission is to improve lives through care, support and empowerment, with a vision for an equitable, just and compassionate multicultural society. Services AMCS provides include home care packages, social support for seniors, access and support services, carer support, and community engagement projects.
With a budget of $38m, 296 paid staff members proficient in 45 languages and 100 volunteers, AMCS has experienced significant growth in service delivery. AMCS has also undertaken major digital transformation initiatives. AMCS faces challenges such as workforce shortages and continued change and challenges to the aged care sector as the federal government implements the Support at Home reform.
Looking to the future with the recent launch of its new strategy, AMCS is on a journey to better serve ageing Victorians through growth and enabling initiatives to better integrate and improve existing services to more people in need.
Based in Seddon and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager Home Care and Support will lead and manage the Support at Home Services program. This will involve navigating ongoing reform, clinical and non-clinical assessment streams, staff management and development, program compliance, innovation, and overall contribution to the organisation’s performance and service quality. The role will oversee the delivery of clinical and non-clinical services with a focus on operational management, staff development, client retention, and program growth. Additionally, the role will implement changes required as the ongoing Support at Home reform and ensure the program remains financially viable.
You are a purpose-driven executive leader who wants to see your work make a tangible difference in the lives of ageing Victorians. You’ll be self-motivated, service oriented and possess a flexible working style with the ability to work with and find a pathway through change and ambiguity. You’ll be able to demonstrate a strong track record in a similar work environment and sector and an approach to your work that is pro-active and solution focused. Your style of leading will actively contribute to a healthy, positive and accountable workplace culture. Key to your success will be your ability to establish productive working relationships across the organisation and contribute to the broader team with purpose.
This is one of those rare chances to really make a difference in the community services sector, with an enviable opportunity to enhance your career within a complex but incredibly rewarding sector.
