The South East Councils Climate Change Alliance (SECCCA) is a network of nine local governments in Victoria’s south-east, responding regionally to the challenge of climate change. Our vision is that the south east of Melbourne is a thriving and productive region that has a safe and sustainable climate.

SECCCA has recently finalised its new 3 year Strategic Plan and has identified multiple key projects to be delivered within the SECCCA region.

POSITION OBJECTIVE

SECCCA’s goal is to achieve zero council corporate emissions and lead action to achieve zero community emissions. To achieve the work program for the 2022-23 period multiple funded projects require delivery across a number of SECCCA program areas, including:

• Carbon Sequestration Program
• Zero Emissions Buildings Program
• Council Community Emissions and Reduction Program; and
• Climate Resilience Program

SECCCA is seeking an experienced project officer, skilled in project and stakeholder management to deliver these priority projects as part of SECCCA’s emission reduction and adaptation goals.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

• Qualifications in Engineering, Environmental Science/Management, Policy or other relevant (similar) qualification
• Experience in delivering multiple projects requiring stakeholder leadership to deliver project objectives
• Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to develop, coordinate, deliver and manage projects and their financial requirements to achieve outcomes within set timelines
• Experience and knowledge of climate change emissions reduction and adaptation in a local government and community context
• Demonstrated highly developed level of written and oral communication skills
• Proficient knowledge and experience with Office 365: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook.

Note this role may require travel within the SECCCA region, and requires the use of your own vehicle. Travel will be reimbursed at $0.68 cents per kilometre. Applicants should hold a Victorian Drivers licence.
