SecondBite is one of Australia’s largest free food rescue organisations, and recently merged with FareShare. SecondBite rescue quality fresh nutritious food that would otherwise go to waste and distribute it to our charity partners.
FareShare operates Australia’s largest non-profit kitchens in Melbourne and Brisbane, where chefs cook rescued and donated food, into millions of delicious, nutritious meals for people in need.

The Position
SecondBite and FareShare together provide a targeted program of food relief for First Nations communities, working alongside those communities to make a difference. Our Meals for the Mob program is growing, and this role will be instrumental in providing strong support and implementation in Queensland and Northern NSW.
Duties include:
- Support First Nations agencies in the Meals for the Mob program, including targeted meals and programs.
- Coordinate logistics with freight and retail partners for regional and remote communities.
- Maintain relationships with community organisations, food donors, and retail stores.
- Ensure compliance with MOU and Service Level Agreement targets.
- Advocate for SecondBite | FareShare through public presentations and community engagement.
- Resolve agency and retail store issues promptly.
- Assist First Nations agencies with onboarding and seasonal planning.
- Maintain accurate agency records in Salesforce and handle data entry.
- Address inquiries from agencies and community partners.
- Ensure signed MOUs and relevant documentation are in place.
- Promote cultural protocols and safety awareness for First Nations clients.
- Report activities that may harm SecondBite's reputation or cause legal concerns.
- Follow safety policies and procedures.
- Contribute to Reconciliation Action Plan and work culture.
- Provide accurate information for reporting and attend regular meetings with the manager.
You bring to the role:
- Strong relationship management skills
- Experience in working with First Nations communities is essential. Working with
- remote communities would be beneficial.
- An understanding of freight and logistics to regional and remote communities would
- be beneficial.
- Skilled in handling challenging situations in a constructive manner
- Excellent organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Salesforce
