Seed is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth-led organisation and we strongly encourage First Nations young people to apply; however this is one of few roles that is also open to non-Indigenous identifying people to support Seed’s impact and growth over the first year of our new strategic plan, we’re opening this position for the right allies to stand alongside us and help raise the funds for our work!

Australia’s first Indigenous youth-led climate network. We are building a movement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people for climate justice. Our vision is for a strong and connected network of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people who are empowered and leading the fight for climate justice.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Regular Giving Manager will play a critical role in developing and implementing Seed’s most sustainable revenue stream, our regular giving program. This is a critical stream that will help ensure organisational fundraising targets are met; enabling Seed to continue thriving as an impactful organisation.

This is an enjoyable and complex program to coordinate, involving managing a team of casual staff who hold certain projects and form our in-house calling team. This program has existed for many years, and this role is designed to continue its long-term success by focusing on growing and diversifying the program further.

This is an exciting moment in time to join the team and lead this program. Seed has just completed a new strategic plan, outlining our vision and goals for the next three years. By joining our team and taking on this role, you will be able to help us build sustainability over this period and beyond!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, Diversify and Implement Program: create and deliver a holistic long-term strategy in alignment with Seed’s strategic objectives and values; testing new ideas to ensure growth, diversification and sustainability.
  • Manage Program Performance: set, monitor and report on targets across the program including ongoing tracking of income and expenditure against budgets; KPIs of donor acquisition channels; ongoing program forecasting, reporting and evaluation.
  • Team Management: support the team of casual staff who you will work closely with by providing mentoring, training, support and development.
  • Donor Communications: develop and implement a communications strategy and branding, to ensure there are well-crafted donor journeys as well as ensuring our donors are informed and inspired, to improve donor retention and alignment. This will include both emails and calls.
  • Data Management: track all donor contact in the Seed database (Nationbuilder) and work closely with the Communications Team to coordinate regular acquisition of supporter data and strategic acquisition campaigns.
  • Other related duties with regard to your skills, experience and classification of the position.

SELECTION CRITERIA

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Strong commitment to the mission and values of Seed and awareness on the issue of climate justice and First Nations justice.
  • Experience or a strong interest in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.
  • 1-2+ years proven experience in regular giving programs including creating and executing well-thought-out fundraising strategies that consistently meet and/or exceed fundraising targets and increase long-term sustainability and financial security.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities, often under time pressure.
  • Team management skills to support and mentor a high-performing team of young people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to think through complex political and social issues and communicate them simply and clearly.
  • Experience in data management and financial reporting.
  • Ability to build & manage trusting relationships with a range of internal & external stakeholders including staff and donors.

Desirable:

  • Willing and able to travel.
  • Ability to obtain a Working With Children Check or state/territory equivalent & First Aid Certificate.
  • Working knowledge of programs, including Slack, Zoom, Zapier, Stripe and NationBuilder.
