Applications for the positions should include the candidate’s full name, address, contact details and confidential email address, and comprise:
Candidate Statement
A brief statement (ideally 1-2 pages) outlining what you feel you would bring to the SEFA Board and would expect to accomplish in the role.
This should include responses to the selection criteria in the Role Description and consideration of the following questions:
- What skills, connections, resources, and expertise do you have to offer to help our Board
- How do you differentiate between thinking about strategic development and thinking about risk management?
- Have you ever worked with First Nations people or communities? Please describe your experiences. (They didn’t think it needed to be as narrow as ‘professional capacity’)
- Which part of this Board role will likely be your biggest challenge?
Curriculum Vitae (or LinkedIn profile)
Your CV or downloaded profile should document positions held, including relevant dates, title and reporting lines, responsibilities and key achievements. They should also list education, training and qualifications details.
References
Full contact details of three referees whom Sefa may contact. Please state the relationship with the referee and why they have been nominated. Referees will only be contacted after consultation with the candidate. It is the candidate’s responsibility to ensure that referees are willing to provide feedback when contacted. Ideally, if you have prior non-executive board experience, one of these references will be the CEO of the company you served on the board of.
