Senior Speech Pathologist

Full-time and Part-time positions 0.6-1.0 FTE

We are looking for passionate Senior Speech Pathologists to join our teams in the Perth South Metropolitan Armadale and surrounding areas.

Our speech pathologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, dietitians, therapy support officers, positive behaviour support practitioners, orthoptists, orientation and mobility specialists, and Deafblind consultants work collaboratively with clients and families to make a positive impact on client’s lives. Our therapists also have opportunities to work closely with support workers and our supported independent living team. Our flexible therapy model enables us to work with our clients at their home, school or workplace – anywhere they live their lives or at any of our hubs.

About the role

SensesWA Speech Pathologists have a community-based role delivering interventions where our clients live their lives: in homes, schools, child care centres and other community settings, as well as in our Morley or Armadale therapy hubs. Therapists work closely in dedicated and supportive transdisciplinary teams to provide family and person-centred evidence-based supports to our clients. Our goal is to enable our clients to live their best lives!

Our therapists work with a general caseload of paediatric and adult clients with the flexibility to tailor caseloads based on individual interests and expertise. There are opportunities to support infants, children, adolescents and/or adults with developmental delays or various disability diagnoses including vision impairments, hearing impairments, autism spectrum disorder as well as a range of other conditions/disabilities.

What you will bring to the role

  • Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology and current registration with Speech Pathology Australia as a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist.
  • A current driver’s licence, Working With Children (WWC) Check, NDIS Workers Screening check, First Aid certification and proof of eligibility to work in Australia.
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement and deliver person-centred evidence-informed services in a range practice areas and different settings.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, families, their therapy team and support networks.
  • At least 3 years clinical experience delivering high quality Speech Pathology services.
  • Previous experience working with clients with disabilities and their families is highly desirable but not essential.
  • Demonstrated experience with supporting and mentoring allied health professionals.
