About the Role

This role involves delivering professional care efficiently and effectively to residents, in collaboration with them, their representatives, and the multidisciplinary team, according to best practices.

Timely documentation that meets regulatory standards is essential. Responsibilities include promoting individualised, resident-focused care, administering medications, committing to ongoing professional development, and performing various care activities such as social and emotional support, assisting with mobility and nutrition, managing wounds and continence, and ensuring confidentiality. All tasks must align with SRV's mission, values, policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.

Essential skills and attributes (selection criteria):

  • Current APHRA registration as a Medication Endorsed Enrolled Nurse.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent teamwork abilities.
  • Extensive, recent experience in residential aged care.
  • High level of clinical knowledge and experience, including guiding PCWs.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ability to problem-solve medium to high complexity issues and recognise when to escalate.
  • Good understanding and interpretation of AN-ACC continuous improvement, risk management, and Health and Safety.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the Aged Care Act and accreditation requirements.
