About the role

This is a temporary, full-time position on a 10-month contract working 35 hours per week at Nowra Administration Building. Part-time and job-sharing arrangements will be considered.

This role is responsible for providing social recovery support to natural disaster effected community members as part of the Shoalhaven Recovery Support Service.

Duties

Reporting directly to the Manager - Community Connections, the focus of this position is to:

  • Provide excellent customer service through the provision of timely and accurate information and assistance
  • Provide advice and support to teams within Council on natural disaster social recovery issues
  • Maintain databases of contact details and case notes
  • Partner with individuals and community groups, stakeholder groups, members of the Interagency or Health & Wellbeing Network to develop and support community led programs and events
  • Attend and provide social recovery support at identified Federal, State or Council led community recovery events
  • Initiate service/action requests and complaints by registering details within Council’s Customer Relationship Management System and respond to and/ or assign matters to relevant areas for further action
  • Attend and actively participate in Shoalhaven Recovery Interagency and Health & Wellbeing Network meetings

Skills & Experience

To be successful in the position, you will possess:

  • Certificate IV in Business (Administration) or equivalent experience
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (visa)
  • Knowledge of and experience in trauma informed conversation principles
  • Demonstrated experience of supporting community along the recovery journey
  • This position requires a current NSW Working with Children Check. Applicants are required to apply and pay for this check if not already obtained.
