About the role

As a Residential Support Worker, you'll provide therapeutic and supervisory care & support to children & young people placed in the care of the Queensland Government & Silky Oaks, whilst contributing to the day-to-day functioning of the residential location.

You will act as an appropriate role model while providing clear & consistent boundaries & structure whilst supporting the children & young people’s daily needs.

About you

To be considered for a Support Worker role, you will require:

  • A minimum Certificate IV in an approved qualification (or evidence of enrolment) – or willingness to enrol in such a course
  • Experience working within the Qld Out of Home Care framework
  • Passion and drive for wanting to make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people
  • Capacity to work Monday to Sunday working across all shifts, including afternoons, nights, and sleepovers

All applicants are also required to:

  • Hold and maintain a valid Australian Drivers Licence "C" Class (Opens preferred) with no restrictions
  • Have Australian Citizenship or a ‘Right to Work’ in Australia
  • Be willing to undergo a full Criminal History Check (LCS2) and apply for Working with Children Card (Blue Card-Paid) if not already held.
