Skills Insight is one of 10 Jobs & Skills Councils working to strengthen Australia’s skills and VET system. As a not-for-profit, government funded, industry-led organisation, we work with stakeholders who share a passion for improving skills and training across the agribusiness, fibre, furnishing, food, animal and environment care industries.
We engage with industry, training providers, unions, and government to address workforce challenges and develop practical, future-focused solutions.
This is a rare opportunity to lead a high-impact organisation at the forefront of skills and workforce development. You will shape national agendas, influence policy and systems, and drive meaningful outcomes to support Australia’s diverse agribusiness industries.
Skills Insight is a values-driven organisation committed to openness, transparency, trust, collaboration, and respect, while embracing adaptability, curiosity, dedication, and accountability in all we do.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to deliver the objectives of the Jobs and Skills Council program and ensure the organisation's success. This is a highly visible and influential role, responsible for leading a multi-stakeholder, government-funded national body with a complex remit spanning workforce planning, stakeholder engagement, research, policy influence, and project delivery.
As CEO, you will oversee a cross-functional leadership team, build strong relationships across industry and government, and manage governance, risk, financials, and organisational performance. You will drive cultural alignment, future growth, and continuous innovation to meet evolving national priorities.
You are a visionary and values-driven leader with deep experience navigating the intersection of government, industry, and education. Known for your strategic insight and influence, you build strong partnerships, unite stakeholders with diverse priorities, and lead with clarity, purpose, and impact.
With a track record of senior leadership—ideally at CEO or executive level—you are commercially astute, politically savvy, and passionate about shaping systems that support workforce resilience and future skills.
