    About the opportunity

    The position of Registered Nurse is based at Canterbury Outpatient Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) in Sydney Local Health District Drug Health Services.

    In this role, you will be responsible for the provision of patient centred; evidence informed nursing care that promotes identified health outcomes for clients who are experiencing opioid dependency and other drug use disorders, including alcohol use disorder. This role includes S8 medication administration, case management of clients and liaising with a variety of services internal and external to the service. The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

    The ideal candidate

    • Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
    • Can work a 7 day rotating roster (Monday to Sunday). 
    • Desirable to have a current NSW Driver's Licence (P1 and P2 licence acceptable). 
    • Understanding of current evidence-based D&A interventions and a good working knowledge of regulations as they apply to Schedule 8 drugs.
    • It would be advantageous if you have experience in the drug and alcohol setting, including knowledge around drug and alcohol interventions and harm minimisation principles.
