The Social Worker Level New Graduate position is responsible for the provision of Social Work services to patients, families and carers, who are under the care of the inpatient teams of Geriatric Medicine, Orthopaedic Medicine and General Medicine. This is a rotational position, rotating every 6 months between General Medicine and Geriatrics and Orthopaedics.
There are also frequent opportunities to broaden your skill development through coverage of, and shadowing within, Emergency Medicine, Violence, Abuse and Neglect, Paediatric Medicine and Women’s and Babies.
The Social Worker New Graduate will have access to frequent informal supervision from more senior staff members, and may require direct professional support when performing novel, complex, or critical tasks.
The Social Worker New Graduate will participate in quality improvement activities, departmental committees and may be required to participate in clinical research activities.
