About the role

This newly created role supports membership growth and retention within Surf Life Saving NSW by delivering projects, events and activities in relation to nippers, youth and parent participation and engagement.

This role requires strong project management, event coordination and member engagement experience. Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to plan, implement and evaluate projects as part of the Membership Strategy to support administration and resourcing of SLSNSW Nippers program and youth focused events.

Some of the key duties will include:

  • Develop and maintain resources and communications to support members throughout their SLS engagement.
  • Review, refine and promote recruitment and retention initiatives including associated resources, campaigns, and collateral.
  • Maintain content/resources on SLSNSW’s website and SLSA’s Member’s Area Library.
  • Build and develop relationships with members at all levels through regular communications with key stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with other areas of the organisation to ensure the key priorities and actions outlined in the strategic plan are supported.
  • Keep up to date with best practice in volunteering through active participation in volunteering networks.

What you’ll need

  • An understanding of youth engagement or youth development best practices.
  • Experience in project and event coordination, particularly youth-focused projects/events.
  • Experience in developing a wide range of written resources and communications for a range of audiences, including parents, youth, and age managers.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining relationships within a sporting or not for profit environment.
  • Ability to independently conduct research using a range of sources, analysing findings to support content development or responses to queries.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, competing demands, and multitask.
  • Sound computer skills particularly Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • Flexible attitude to work, including some evening and weekend work.
