About the Role

The Lifesaving Services Coordinator will develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key volunteers and staff and ensure the delivery of efficient and effective lifesaving services in the region in order to achieve SLSQ’s vision. This role is based from our Gold Coast office in Burleigh Heads.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the efficient delivery of Lifesaving Operations Support Services in the Gold Coast region.
  • Coordinate SLSQ’s Emergency Response capabilities within the Gold Coast Region.
  • Attend all Branch Lifesaving Standing Committee Meetings and provide reports and updates on SLSQ behalf.
  • SLSQ Operations Support equipment is always maintained to an operational ready status.
  • Establish and maintain mutually respectful and trusting relationships with the Branch Director of Lifesaving, Officer’s Bearers, Advisors and Members.
  • Maintain a positive and effective operational relationship between Volunteer and lifeguard services within the region.
  • Liaise with and develop positive working relationships, with both internal and external agencies who are involved in beach safety and lifesaving services.
  • Ensure compliance of Gold Coast Club lifesaving services.

Skills & Experience

  • Working with Children Blue Card (Required).
  • Hold a current open of provisional driver’s license (Required).
  • Hold a current and proficient SLSA Bronze Medallion and Certificate II Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue) (Required).
  • Knowledge and understanding of Surf Lifesaving operational services and equipment – including Beach Patrols, Operation Support services and other lifesaving front-line services.
