The SAWM Marketing Manager will be responsible for the daily delivery of the Smart Water Advice Program. The role also entails some administrative support. The successful applicant will have a passion for the environment and an enthusiasm for working in the sustainability sector to promote good cause. A background in the water sector is preferred although not a requirement. The nature of the work entails high levels of personal commitment, judgement, initiative and the ability to build up close working relations with subscribers, licensees and other SAWM supporters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day to day relationships with councils and water utilities with regards to production, fulfilment and delivery of collateral for the Smart Water Advice Program
  • Generate content for Smart Water Advice subscribers including rebranding of existing materials, written, photographic, video and interactive content
  • Maintain catalogue, ratecard and other supporting documents for the Smart Water Advice Program
  • Manage, liaise and negotiate with SAWM suppliers efficiently and quickly in order to meet subscriber expectations – TV, Research, Design, print etc.
  • Market the Waterwise Endorsed Product Program to increase the number of product applications received. Manage Renewal process and documentation of this scheme
  • Write, design & deliver newsletters for stakeholders and consumers and produce associated case studies
  • Regularly maintain and develop social media posts across Twitter, facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
  • Manage the SAWM site through the back-end of the website. Includes management of amends to existing tools eg: Water Calculators, Blue House, Plant Finder
  • Produce minutes for WSAA Water Efficiency Network, Expert Panel Meetings, advisory committee meetings etc.
  • Support the production and delivery of reports when required
  • Raise quotes, chase POs, check supplier invoices chase client invoice payments
  • Any other duties as directed by the CEO and within the general scope and grading of the post

This appointment is not restricted to any particular profession, discipline or educational background. However, the skills, knowledge and experience as set out below are unlikely to be found in persons who do not have relevant experience in marketing, communications and project management. A degree or other tertiary marketing or business qualification is a definite advantage.

The work demands a high degree of initiative, enterprise and an enthusiastic approach. The ability to communicate confidently with a wide range of people using a variety of methods is essential. You will need excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for the web. You will have experience of managing accounts and working closely with stakeholders to fulfil their expectations. You will also need to understand the principles of customer care.

The successful applicant will need to communicate confidently with a wide range of people i.e.: water utility and council communications and technical staff, licensees (product manufacturers) and suppliers using a variety of methods. The nature of the work entails high levels of personal commitment, judgement, initiative, supervisory skills, the ability to take decisions and to build close working relationships. An enthusiastic approach to water efficiency is another essential feature.

The Account Manager must be able to operate successfully as a team member and deal in a professional manner with a variety of people and interests. However, at times, the need to work independently on your own initiative is required. The ability to "think on your feet", problem-solving skills and a high level of initiative are other qualities that this officer must possess.
