The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

We are currently seeking a Growing Careers Project Programs Coordinator to join our organisation. With the aim to support secondary students to engage in four or more career related conversations through the life of the Growing Careers Project, this role will work to contribute to stronger school attendance and Year 12 attainment as a result. In this position you will coordinate the delivery of the Learning for Life suite of programs, including the building and maintenance of key school partnerships.

About the role

You will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating the delivery and administration of appropriate career related programs and activities from the Growing Careers Project suite across Project Partner schools.
  • Working with schools to identify ‘best fit’ career related programs and activities to meet student needs and support career aspirations.
  • Maintaining program fidelity throughout the course of implementation.
  • Developing and maintaining purposeful relationships with partner schools and other community organisations to support the delivery of a core suite of programs.

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Qualifications in community services, career development or other similar areas.
  • Understanding of post school pathways.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting and facilitating.
  • Proven experience in establishing and maintaining relevant partnerships.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and coordinating programs / projects.
  • Excellent organisational administrative skills (including computer literacy, data and time management).
  • Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children's Check and hold a current driver’s licence.
