The Smith Family is a children’s education charity that helps young Australians experiencing disadvantage to create better futures for themselves through harnessing the power of education.

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader, Learning for Life to join our organisation. Reporting to the Regional Team Leader, and working alongside dedicated, energised, and passionate team members, this role will provide leadership and support to a geographically dispersed team responsible for the implementation of Learning for Life programs aligned with practice guidelines and state developed plans. This role will embed a coaching framework to develop team capability to support and drive growth.

About our role

You will be responsible for:

  • Manage and develop capability within the team.
  • Recruit and induct new team members.
  • Develop and manage a culture of process improvement and customer service.
  • Support the team to implement programs in accordance with guidelines.
  • Be accountable and support the team in reaching program targets.
  • Develop and lead a team that provides effective program delivery through accurate and timely information.
  • Resolution of issues as they arise.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely data collection.
  • Work with the team to develop and maintain strong working relationships with partner schools and relevant community agencies.

About you

As well as passion for community, you will bring the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team.
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Effective communication skills across multi-modes including presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent organisational, administrative and time management skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong computer literacy including a high degree of Excel competency and experience using a database/CRM tool.
  • Hold a current drivers licence.
  • Have or willing to obtain an employee Working With Children's Check.
