The Manager, Advisory Services role is responsible for management and the business development of projects that deliver advisory services to build the capacity and capability of social purpose organisations and changemakers. Our advisory services cover a range of areas, including strategy, governance, business model design, impact measurement and financial modelling, as well as educational program design. The role will suit an experienced management consultant and project manager who enjoys working across multiple projects and services and interacting with a large and diverse set of stakeholders internally and externally. This role will work closely with all members of the Social Impact Hub team and leverage the Social Impact Hub's Professional Impact Network (PIN) of 90+ experts which is our expert delivery 'arm'.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing the end-to-end delivery of advisory programs and projects for Social Impact Hub clients, ensuring successful delivery, exceptional client experience and identifying opportunities to further deepen the client relationship and drive impact.
- Responding to inbound leads and requests for proposals (RFPs) and engagement in proactive business development.
- Engaging with clients to understand their needs, scope projects that provide impactful solutions, and develop meaningful relationships.
- Resourcing projects with our Professional Impact Network and skilled volunteers, including briefing in the appropriate team, attending kick off and project meetings, undertaking quality assurance on deliverables and project closure, wrap up and reporting.
- Working with the Advisory Services team to monitor and improve the performance, efficiency and effectiveness of our products, services and processes.
- Collaborating across the Social Impact Hub team and sharing insights to support with marketing, ecosystem building and the mobilisation of capital.
What we're looking for
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience building and managing relationships with clients and ideally other stakeholders including consultants, funders and internal team members.
- Demonstrated experience in scoping and budgeting of projects.
- Demonstrated experience in project management, including managing multiple projects with competing deadlines and conducting quality assurance on client deliverables.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting proposals, tenders and/or grant applications.
- Ability to self-manage, be highly organised, manage priorities and work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to balance strategic and operational needs and to achieve outcomes in a growing organisation and evolving external environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong IT skills and ability to learn new systems (we use Zoho One) and processes.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- It is preferable that the candidate has worked in a client-facing role at a management consulting or professional services firm.
- Knowledge of the social sector and at least one of the Social Impact Hub’s areas of work is preferred (i.e. impact investing, enterprise education, social enterprise development, impact measurement, philanthropy, corporate social responsibility).

However, we do our best to provide a decent salary and a great working environment for our people. We understand and value flexibility in the workplace. We are open to candidates who would like to work full-time or part-time. Part-time can be 3+ days per week or school hours across the week, or a combination. The role is also hybrid in that Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays are collaboration days in our office, andWednesdays and Fridays are generally 'working from home' days. We are located in a small office based in Edgecliff, right above the train station.
