About Social Traders

Social Traders is the trailblazer of social enterprise procurement in Australia. We connect certified social enterprises with business and government members. By activating the power of social enterprise procurement, we create a positive impact through jobs, community services and support for the most marginalised.

Objectives of the role:

This is a crucial role for Social Traders to help unlock the potential of social procurement by supporting social enterprise capacity and engagement with Social Traders membership and by servicing business and government buyer members.

Its key functions are to work actively with existing business members to unlock value in the relationship, identify and enable procurement deals between certified social enterprises and business and government members. Your role will support the engagement of certified social enterprises in their Connections membership.

Your key responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of business member accounts to engage, inform and enable these organisations to undertake social procurement, developing strong relationships.
  • Identify and enable procurement connections between business and government members and social enterprises.
  • Ensure customer success for social enterprise members.
  • Relationship manage business and government members to engage, inform and enable these organisations to buy from social enterprise.
  • Continuous improvement of social enterprise engagement activities to ensure retention.
  • Deliver training workshops for social enterprise and business members
  • Support the promotion and success of Grow Members, and identification of Grow candidates.
  • Share learnings with the team.

About you:

You possess excellent communication skills commercial acumen, are self-driven, have an innovative mindset and are a team player. You will help unlock the potential of social procurement by servicing certified social enterprises on our Connections membership package.

You will bring a set of skills in change management, influencing and excellent client servicing. You are a comfortable networker who enjoys working with people at all organisational levels.

You are passionate about working actively with existing customers to unlock value in the relationship. You can identify opportunities within the current network to increase/expand membership level/memberships to business partners/subsidiaries.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in relevant discipline preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, commercial acumen, self-driven, innovative mindset, team player.
  • Highly developed relationship building, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Demonstrated ability to confidently present on behalf of the organisation publicly to potential customers or industry delegates.
  • Demonstrated track record in account management/stakeholder engagement roles.
  • Experience working in or with social enterprise and/or Government and/or the private sector.
  • Demonstrated commitment to social change and the mission and values of Social Traders.
  • Knowledge and understanding of procurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems in challenging environments.
  • Strong understanding of social enterprise and the benefits they deliver.

  • Internal - Social Procurement Services, Marketing and Digital Services
  • External - Government & Business sector (existing and potential members); Social Enterprise sector
