About Us:

Freedom Solutions Australia is a volunteer-based, not-for-profit organisation providing assistive technology solutions and occupational therapy services to people living with disabilities and older adults. For over 40 years, we have been a trusted partner in the disability services sector, offering custom-designed equipment, modifications to existing technologies, and innovative solutions through our Freedom Wheels customised bike service.

Our Mission:

We change lives by delivering personalised technology, equipment, and services to people with disabilities.

Our Values:

  • Innovation: Constantly pushing the boundaries of assistive technology.
  • Collaboration: Achieving results through teamwork.
  • Customer-Centred: Delivering positive client experiences at every stage.
  • Integrity: Upholding honesty and ethical practices.
  • Financial Sustainability: Ensuring responsible financial management and growth.

The Role:

As the Grants Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in securing funding to support our operations and projects. You will manage the entire grants process, from identifying opportunities to submitting proposals and managing relationships with donors and funding bodies.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building and nurturing strategic relationships with grant providers, government agencies, and donors.
  • Researching, developing, and submitting persuasive grant proposals to meet funding targets.
  • Managing internal processes for grant applications, submissions, and reporting.
  • Ensuring timely reporting and communication with both internal teams and external funders.
  • Contributing to organisational goals by securing at least $600,000 in grant income for FY 2024/2025.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you'll need to have a proven understanding of grant programs and their requirements, along with advanced written communication skills to craft effective grant applications. Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, reporting, and managing funding allocations, are essential. Experience with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce, and the ability to build strong relationships with donors, philanthropic organisations, and government agencies will be key.

Ideally, you will also have experience working with volunteers, seniors, or people with disabilities, knowledge of fundraising legislation and ACNC guidelines, and expertise in submitting Club Grants NSW applications. Project management experience and creative writing skills would be a bonus!

Personally, you’ll be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and strategic thinking are vital, along with the ability to influence and engage with the wider organisation.

You'll bring at least two years' experience coordinating a grants portfolio in a not-for-profit setting, relevant tertiary qualifications (or equivalent experience), and hold a current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Why Join Us?

At Freedom Solutions Australia, you will be part of a supportive team making a real difference in the lives of people living with disabilities. We offer salary packaging benefits, flexible working conditions, and opportunities for professional development. We are committed to diversity and inclusion and welcome applications from all backgrounds.
