In the role you will:

  • Conduct assessments and therapeutic evidence-based interventions for children with autism from 0 to 18 years old.
  • Develop Individual Plans to support children in developing fine and gross motor skills. This includes anticipated goals, expected outcomes, specific interventions, duration & frequency of the interventions required.
  • Supervise and mentor therapy assistant aides.
  • Coupled with assisting the individual needs of each child, families will receive regular training and tools to achieve therapy goals in the home and community.
  • Develop and lead group programs for parents and support staff when required.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Therapy.
  • AHPPRA or Occupational Therapy Australia Membership.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with families, educators and other professionals in the delivery of OT services- particularly with children on the Autism Spectrum.
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and families.
