About the Role

The Senior Multilingual Assessment and Navigation Facilitator is responsible for leading and providing high-quality service navigation and assessment support to individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds, Refugee communities and those experiencing or at risk of homelessness within the Southwest Sydney region. The role will be responsible for a small caseload of individuals or families who require support to access, engage with health services. This role involves facilitating the intake, assessment, and referral processes for clients, ensuring that their needs are accurately identified and met through appropriate services. The position requires expertise in working within diverse cultural contexts and delivering services in multiple languages to promote access to health and social services. Additionally, the role involves handling complex cases and offering leadership, coaching, and mentorship to Junior Navigators to help develop their skills.

Essential Criteria

  • Proven ability to provide services in multiple languages, with fluency in at least one language spoken within the South West Sydney community (ie Arabic, Dari, Mandarin, Cantonese Vietnamese
  • Comprehensive knowledge of trauma-informed care practices.
  • Strong understanding of providing services that are culturally sensitive and responsive.
  • In-depth knowledge of the health and social service systems, particularly within South West Sydney and the PHN framework.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by CALD communities, including access to services, language barriers, and cultural sensitivities.
  • High-level communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in leading or mentoring staff, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
