About the Role

The 99 Steps Team Leader will support the Manager to lead and manage the delivery and growth of the 99 Steps Program. Providing mentorship, guidance and supervision to program staff, this position will focus on the operational aspects of service delivery to ensure that all clients are supported emotionally and practically to achieve enhanced safety and wellbeing.

This role combines operational and supervisory functions, guiding team members to operate from a evidence-based practice approach with the domestic and family violence sector. The position ensures quality service delivery focused on enhancing client safety and wellbeing, with expertise in supporting culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary qualification in social sciences or humanities discipline, and/or demonstrated ability in a similar program role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues faced by users of the Domestic Violence services and proven ability to collaborate with partner organisations to ensure optimal outcomes for service users.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the multicultural sector including relevant government policies and programs.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deal constructively with complex and sometimes conflicting situations.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills including the ability to effectively coach, mentor and motivate 99 Steps program staff
  • Highly developed advocacy skills to represent SSI in a professional and positive manner to other external bodies
