An exciting opportunity has become available for a Student Support Facilitator to work across the Skilling Queenslanders for Work program, supporting students on their journey while studying through STEPS Education and Training.

This role is contracted through to 13/06/2025, 20 hrs per week across Monday to Thursday.

The role

Provide ongoing support to students studying the Certificate III in Individual Support under the Skilling Queenslanders for Work funding throughout their studies to maximise program outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, develop and complete Student Individual Training & Support plans for each student.
• Provide one-on-one student support through a range of employment related activities, including resume writing, interview techniques, job application completion and overall work readiness
• Assist students to reflect on training and provide an open forum for students to explore barriers and identify solutions
• Collaborate with the Trainer and Training Manager to identify and facilitate student placement opportunities.
• Refer students to external support services where required.

The Successful Applicant

• Recent industry experience within student support or training is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to proficiently navigate Microsoft Suite and other software packages
• Ability to connect and build rapport with students across different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds
• An effective, flexible and supportive communication style which assists students in completing their studies.

Applicants must have the ability to complete a Police Check and have a current Driver's Licence.
