Centre360 Youth and Family Service is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Clinical Manager to champion high-quality, trauma-informed clinical practice. This pivotal role provides expert clinical leadership, reflective supervision, and practice development, ensuring that the young people we support receive safe, effective, and engaging care.

As Clinical Lead, you’ll guide a small multidisciplinary team of clinicians, fostering a culture of reflective practice and continuous learning. You’ll play a key role in leading clinical governance, and service innovation—helping Centre360 continue to be a place where young people feel welcomed, respected and empowered.

ABOUT CENTRE 360 YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICE

Centre 360 Youth and Family Service is a community-based adolescent counselling and support service based in Paddington, Sydney .Centre 360 has been supporting young people since 1978 and continues to transform lives by offering free counselling and innovative programs for young people aged 12-24 and their families in Sydney’s eastern and south-eastern suburbs .We provide a safe, welcoming space for young people to find the support they need on their journey to wellbeing.

We provide individual counselling, outreach counselling support in schools and in the community, group programs, parenting programs, and a mentorship program. Our work in schools helps students engage meaningfully in their education. At Centre 360, we meet young people where they are, to navigate challenges and build a brighter future.

We are committed to delivering high-quality therapeutic services to young people and their families and value systemic, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and evidence-based approaches to practice. We also emphasise the importance of therapeutic engagement and cultural competence in our work and believe in the importance of strong therapeutic relationships as a vehicle for change.

The Centre works with a range of vulnerable young people and their families, including young people who have experienced trauma and loss, abuse and neglect, family dysfunction and breakdown, mental health issues, substance abuse, bullying or victimisation, difficulties with school engagement, homelessness, as well as juvenile and young adult offending.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Leadership & Governance

  • Lead and develop the clinical vision and practice framework for Centre360, aligning with organisational values and youth-centred principles.
  • Maintain oversight of clinical risk management, critical incidents, and duty-of-care protocols.
  • Collaborate in the development and implementation of clinical and organisational policies and procedures.

Supervision & Team Support

  • Provide individual and group clinical supervision to the therapeutic team.
  • Support case formulation and care planning for complex client presentations.
  • Promote clinical reflection, safety, and resilience across the team.
  • Lead and promote a positive team environment, where all staff are valued and respected.
  • Contribute to achieving St Francis Social Service’s purpose and vision and uphold the values of the organisation.
  • Collect and enter accurate, timely data to inform service planning and evaluation.
  • Lead intake processes, referrals and assessing client’s suitability for the service.
  • Support team members to develop their skills and knowledge and enhance their clinical practice through consultation, participation in professional learning activities, and participation in peer review.
  • Keep up-to-date, accurate records.
  • Adhere to site policies and procedures – particularly legislative requirements such as WHS, privacy and confidentiality, Code of Conduct and mandatory reporting.
  • Maintain open communication with the CEO, Operations and Programs Manager and the team.
  • Lead WHS at Centre 360.

Client Support & Therapeutic Support

  • Support a small clinical caseload.
  • Build positive, effective working relationships with diverse young people and their families.
  • Undertake comprehensive initial assessment and ongoing assessments of client needs.
  • Provide high quality therapeutic interventions to young people in the context of their families, which may include;
    • individual counselling
    • educational and therapeutic group work (parents and young people)
    • young people and family inclusive counselling or family therapy.
  • Provide ongoing, client-led case management, including planning, implementation, and review of plans, skill building activities (e.g., budgeting), writing support letters and court reports, advocacy with other services, and practical assistance, such as transport to appointments.
  • Work flexibly and creatively to support clients, including conducting outreach.
  • Use evidence-based and best-practice approaches to working with clients.
  • Respond appropriately to risks of harm that present for young people and their families; including child protection and immediate mental health risks, as well as diffusion of strong negative emotions.
  • Develop supported transition plans for clients leaving the service.
  • Seek feedback from young people and families and monitor outcomes achieved with clients.
  • Access clinical support where needed, including escalating issues to the external clinical supervisor.

Practice Development & Innovation

  • Guide the evolution of Centre 360’s therapeutic models, integrating current research, youth voice, and sector best practice.
  • Support the Youth Advisory Committee.
  • Lead quality improvement activities, including practice reviews and outcome monitoring.
  • Collaborate on the co-design of programs with young people and community partners.
  • Lead impact thinking at Centre 360.

Professional Development & Training

  • Identify learning needs and coordinate internal clinical education opportunities.
  • Deliver training on topics such as trauma-informed care, youth engagement, and wellbeing frameworks.
  • Support new team members through structured clinical induction.
  • Provide high quality regular clinical supervision for the purposes of case review, clinical support, and professional development.
  • Lead the team to engage in ongoing professional development activities to enhance competence and skills, including peer supervision, training, seminars and other forums, and annual appraisals.
  • Share up-to-date knowledge of policies and procedures related to service and sector changes, clinical and counselling practice.
  • Lead learning and development programs at Centre 360.

Strategic & Sector Engagement and Advocacy

  • Contribute clinical insight to Centre 360’s service planning, reporting, and evaluation.
  • Build relationships with external stakeholders, including schools, health services, and community organisations.
  • Represent Centre 360 at professional networks and collaborative forums.
  • Liaise with team members and external services to meet client needs and goals – including consultation, coordinating support, and referring.
  • Advocate for clients and the rights and interests of young people with other services and within youth networks and other forums.
  • Develop good knowledge of local services for young people, to effectively meet their needs and build partnerships.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Creative Arts Therapies, or related field and registration with relevant professional body.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in therapeutic work with young people, ideally in a community or school-based setting.
  • Demonstrated experience providing clinical supervision and supporting multidisciplinary teams.
  • Deep understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally safe practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills and strong commitment to excellence in service delivery.
  • Commitment to collaborative practice and inclusive service delivery.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation including child protection and privacy.

Desirable Criteria

  • Supervision training or formal qualification.
  • Experience working in school settings or with education partners.
  • Experience working with First Nations Young People and organisations.
  • Experience working within the not-for-profit sector as an employee or volunteer.
  • A demonstrated ability to work sensitively in a culturally and linguistically diverse environment with a strong commitment to strengths-based and trauma-informed practices.
  • Demonstrated high ethical standards, integrity and professionalism in managing interactions with funders and supporters.
  • Attention to detail, ability to ensure compliance with grant guidelines, tracking expenditures and providing accurate and timely reporting.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Driver’s license .
  • Occasional out-of-hours work will be required, with time in lieu arrangements in place
  • Working with Children Check and other security checks will be required.
