St John NT, recognised as a registered charitable organisation, functions independently within the federated network of St John Ambulance Australia. The organisation implements a mixed business model founded on three key pillars: the ambulance services contract, a division for volunteers, and a commercial division that supports volunteer engagement in community events throughout the Northern Territory.
As a result of a recent vacancy within the business, St John NT is looking to recruit a self-motivated and people-orientated business partner to join their People & Culture team. This position will be located in Darwin, the heart of the Northern Territory and known for its deep-rooted Aboriginal culture, unique wildlife, freshwater swimming holes and the historic sites of WWII.
Reporting to the HR & Safety Manager, you will work with Executive Leaders, operational department leaders and key stakeholders to provide exceptional people delivery and support services to the business on all employment relations activities.
Your industrial relations experience will require you to provide interpretation and application of awards and enterprise agreements, taking carriage of all matters regarding employee relations, conducting where appropriate workplace investigations, handling grievances and complaints and exercising good judgement around execution of appropriate processes to support various activities. Talent management will also be a key focus, especially performance reviews.
This role will provide you with opportunity to effectively communicate and influence above and below the line behaviour. You will hold at least 5-10yrs+ in a Business Partner or senior advisory position within a functional business environment working in a generalist capacity. Tertiary qualifications are required in Human Resources Management and/or Industrial Relations.
