About Us

St Laurence House is a registered charity who provides accommodation and support to children and young people experiencing homelessness. Located in the Eastern Suburbs, our refuge offers young people stability, nurturing care, and support through a dedicated team of professionals. We provide holistic care around education, health and wellbeing and living skills to support young people to become independent and thrive.

The Role

We are seeking a passionate volunteer to join our Board as the Director of Marketing and Communications. In this role, you will be fully engaged in all aspects of the governance of the service and spearhead our strategic marketing and communications efforts. Your work will be crucial in maintaining our market positioning and ensuring full engagement with our funders, benefactors, and supporters through social media, newsletters, and events. Additionally, you will help develop our bequest programme to secure long-term funding.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in monthly Board meetings (via Zoom or face-to-face).
  • Dedicate approximately 10 hours per month to Board meetings and professional engagements.
  • Lead the strategic marketing and communications function.
  • Enhance engagement with funders, benefactors, and supporters.
  • Develop and promote our bequest programme.
