We are looking for a motivated early-career Data and Insights Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a Data and Insights Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering excellent outcomes to Stride’s clients, which include many leading renewable energy companies. Our Data and Insights Specialists work closely with senior staff to ensure Stride’s fast-moving projects are well founded, accurate and evidence driven.

About the Renewable Energy Data and Insights Specialist
The Data and Insight Specialist is a key part of Stride’s dynamic team, working at the heart of the energy transition, advising a broad range of investors, developers and government agencies. You will work with senior and junior colleagues to research, understand and solve problems for our clients across all our services, taking ownership to ensure Stride’s fast-moving projects are well founded, accurate and evidence driven.
Responsibilities
As a Data and Insight Specialist you will:
- Collect, organise and present insights on a range of data types relating to renewable energy, supporting a range of services for our clients, including:
- Geographic and temporal analysis of projects (eg generation, transmission, load)
- Basic electrical analysis and yield assessments
- Basic commercial analysis including development of basic opex, capex and devx models
- Analyse expert advice from third parties on project matters such as electrical constraints, biodiversity, cultural heritage and social licence
- Manage and deliver technical due diligence and advisory projects, which involves understanding energy generation, electrical grid infrastructure and connections, operations, and cost implications
- GIS mapping of Australia’s electricity system and our clients’ projects
- Work with staff across Stride to plan, organise and deliver projects for clients, working to meet client expectations within the agreed scope, timelines, deliverables and budgets
- Maximise client success in competitive processes such as energy auctions, grants and development programs, by providing input to compelling, evidence-based submissions
- Translate technical jargon into clear communication that illustrates opportunities and clarifies risks, for input to client briefings, technical reports and workshops
- Support clients to understand government, policy developments and the renewables market by coordinating stakeholder mapping, briefings, updates, introductions and training
About you
- You have at least a year of professional experience in a technical advisory team or similar, combining strong skills in consulting, project delivery, and technical subject matter expertise
- You have a strong quantitative background in subjects such as mathematics, physics, computer science, engineering, etc
- You are proficient in data gathering and analysis, modelling, and visualisation tools (for example Microsoft Suite, GIS, Python)
- You are great at problem solving and love learning new things to tackle the most difficult challenges
- You have great time management skills with proven ability to meet client needs and generate outcomes within allocated resources
- You love collecting and analysing data and communicating complex concepts succinctly to both technical and non-technical colleagues and clients.
- You are an excellent collaborator and enjoy working with others
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or commerce, environmental science, business administration, or other related field (or equivalent experience).
