Your Role

We are seeking a dedicated Domestic and Family Violence Specialist to join our team & be at the forefront of providing expert case management to women, children, and young people. In this rewarding role, you will enhance service competency, champion child-centred approaches, and be part of a supportive team committed to making a meaningful difference in your local community.

Your Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality case work and support to individuals affected by domestic and family violence.
  • Contribute to the implementation of our Strategic Plan, prioritising access and equity for victim survivors.
  • Enhance service competency, accountability, and continuous improvement in addressing domestic violence.
  • Promote child-centred practices and recognise the impact of violence on children and young people.
  • Stay informed about relevant government policies and their intersections with housing and homelessness.
  • Collaborate with staff and the broader service sector to improve service delivery.
  • Meet performance targets set by management and external agencies & collect and analyse statistics and data as required.
  • Develop training programs to upskill staff in domestic & family violence response.

You Will Need: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in social work, social science, community welfare, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working with victims of domestic, family, and sexual violence or in a similar field.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • A thorough understanding of the DVNSW Good Practice Guidelines and relevant legislation.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Child Protection legislations and Reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of service sector networks related to domestic and family violence.
  • Awareness of cultural diversity and its impact on domestic violence, with a commitment to supporting Aboriginal and CALD families.
  • Awareness of Work Health and Safety legislation & commitment to promoting safe work practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • NSW driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
