Your Role

Join a passionate and dedicated team making a real difference in your local community. In this dynamic role, you’ll help create a safe and welcoming space that empowers our clients, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, client-centered services  fostering a respectful and supportive environment for people accessing Petes Place. 

Pete’s Place is a warm and welcoming drop-in service devoted to helping individuals who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. This critical community hub provides a safe, inclusive, and supportive space where people can access essential services, receive practical assistance, and foster meaningful pathways towards brighter and more stable futures. 

Your Responsibility

  • Be the Heart of the Community: As a compassionate first point of contact, you'll provide warm, empathetic support for clients, helping them feel safe and heard.
  • Support and Assess: Facilitate the entry and assessment process for new clients and assist with the daily operations of the site to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Collaborate with Case Managers: Work closely with case managers to deliver personalised, holistic support plans that are tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.
  • Empower and Advocate: Engage clients in activities, help guide them through services, and advocate for their needs with external agencies to ensure they receive the support they deserve.

You Will Need

  • A heart for service, a calm demeanour, and the ability to offer non-judgmental, ethical support.
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to work within a collaborative team setting.
  • Experience or qualifications in social services, with a focus on homelessness, mental health, or community work (Cert IV preferred or in progress).
  • First Aid certification or willingness to obtain one.
