Purpose

The Specialist Support Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting NDIS participants with complex needs to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. This position involves the coordination of supports for participants who require advanced assistance, including those with high-level behavioural, medical, or psychological needs. The Specialist Support Coordinator works collaboratively with participants, their families, allied health professionals, and service providers to ensure that services are delivered in a way that maximises the participant’s capacity, independence, and participation in their community.

The primary purpose of this role is to support participants by facilitating their access to appropriate services, developing strategies, and ensuring that supports are individualised, effective, and aligned with their NDIS plans. The Specialist Support Coordinator will also provide expertise in navigating complex systems and help participants build their skills to manage their own NDIS plan, fostering greater independence and empowerment.

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Allied Health).
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role, working with individuals with complex support needs, preferably in the NDIS context.
  • Professional membership i.e. AHPRA
  • A minimum of 5 -10 years’ experience demonstrated in managing a team to provide support to participants, families and the organisation where required.
  • Proven experience in providing support coordination services, specifically within the NDIS framework.
