Surrender Australia is looking for a new team member as we launch a new series of initiatives and events. The role is responsible for building strategic relationships and coordinating our events and gatherings. This would be a great opportunity for the right person to build on their existing networks, and to discover and support life-changing Christian justice and local community engagement work.

The mission of Surrender is to 'follow Jesus in the margins'. We exist to support people in grassroots community work, amplify the voices of First Nations and CALD leaders, and motivate others to action.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Minimum of three years of experience in community development in a Christian setting, such as a missional community, church, or neighbourhood group;
  • Cultural responsiveness, demonstrated through experience in relating to culturally diverse groups;
  • Capacity to facilitate safe spaces for children and vulnerable people, with the ability to pass child safety checks and upholding our child safe policy;
  • Proven ability to implement strategy and manage a budget;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong organisational and leadership abilities;
  • Passion for Jesus' ministry among the poor and marginalised.

If you connect to Our Heartbeat, and have experience in community leadership / placemaking ministry, especially in First Nations and CALD contexts, we encourage you to apply.

A position description is attached.
