The Role:

VincentCare is seeking an appropriately-qualified person to take on the position of Manager – LGBTQIA+ Inclusion.

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Quality and Innovation, the Manager - LGBTQIA+ Inclusion is responsible for leading the ongoing implementation and management of LGBTQIA+ inclusive practice across VincentCare Victoria and VincentCare Community Housing. The purpose of the role is to ensure the highest possible standards of LGBTQIA+ cultural safety for clients/renters, staff and volunteers are embedded and carried in everything we do.

A significant component of the role is responsibility for maintaining the organisation’s high level of LGBTQIA+ inclusive practice and cultural safety required for maintaining our Rainbow Tick Accreditation. The Manager – LGBTQIA+ Inclusion is responsible for developing and executing a three-year Quality Work Plan that outlines how the organisation will continue to meet all Rainbow Tick Standards and sub indicators, as well as to identify and build upon opportunities for continuous improvement in our LGBTQIA+ inclusion and cultural safety.

Selection Criteria:

  • Qualifications

    • Tertiary Qualification in relevant field (eg. Community Services, Social Work, Quality Management Systems, Sociology etc)
  • Knowledge & Experience

    • Lived experience within LGBTQIA+ communities.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the health and wellbeing outcome disparities for LGBTQIA+ people
    • Awareness of the lived experience of LGBTQIA+ communities generally and the impact of broader social and political issues
    • Demonstrated experience or understanding of accreditation standards and assessments (Rainbow Tick Standards is preferred).
    • Awareness of factors that affect and underpin the health, safety and wellbeing disparities of LGBTQIA+ peoples, especially those experiencing homelessness, family violence or substance abuse.
  • Skills and Personal Attributes

    • Highly developed communication skills across a range of mediums including written communication and facilitation of meetings and workshops.
    • Strong organisational and planning skills with the capacity to prioritise and deliver on multiple and competing tasks.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and maintain strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
