The position

As Volunteer Services Engagement and Capabilities Coordinator, you will work as part of the People and Culture team, reporting directly to the Volunteer Services Manager; you will actively contribute to the delivery of a contemporary human resource service for the organisation.

Working in close partnership with the directorate managers, employees, and volunteers to coordinate and deliver recruitment campaigns, volunteer engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and ‘hands on’ operational support.

Volunteer attraction, retention and development is a key focus of this position, playing an active role in the ongoing development and delivery of the People and Culture function for the Society.

About you

Qualifications in volunteer coordination, social or community services or demonstrated previous experience in a volunteer coordinator role, or significant previous community sector experience in a similar role in a complex work environment within an established framework is highly desirable.

You will have the ability to communicate with people at all levels and be able to build strong effective relationships with management, employees, and volunteers.

You will have the ability to work independently and contribute effectively as a team member to achieve goals, having a high attention to detail, with an ability to identify issues and propose solutions and be focused on achieving practical and meaningful outcomes.
