Reconciliation Action Plan Program Coordinator - Melbourne / Sydney / Brisbane

We have an exciting opportunity to join the St Vincent's Reconciliation Action Plan team as the RAP Program Coordinator while the owner of this position takes maternity leave. This opportunity will allow the successful applicant to initially be mentored in the role for one day per week from July to October, and then to assume the role fully from late October this year until 22nd July 2024.

The RAP Program Coordinator provides administrative support and is responsible for coordinating activities and actions stemming from the St Vincent's Reconciliation Action Plan.

Reporting to the Group Manager Reconciliation, the RAP Program Coordinator manages the coordination of RAP meetings, progression of RAP Action items and coordinates reporting in consultation with the Chair.

The position requires the incumbent to work both independently and in close association with the Steering Committee Chair to achieve the goals of the RAP.

To be successful in this position, you must demonstrate:

Essential

  • The ability to liaise with (and or negotiate with) external organisations, and hospital staff including nursing, medical and allied health.
  • Experience in data gathering and the compilation of high-level reports.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated practice of cultural safety principles
  • The ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to progress deliverables autonomously
  • Strong organisational skills including the ability to maintain a high standard of record keeping and a demonstrated ability to meet competing deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact well with research and technical staff and excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with members of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, both internal and external.
  • Skills in managing complex projects and events with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in coaching or mentoring staff with specific projects and skills development.
