KEY PURPOSE
The Marketing and Communications Manager will have responsibility for creating one true voice throughout internal and external communications. Working with executive managers, you will develop and implement communications that directly support SydWest’s strategic objectives.
Leading the Marketing and Communications team, you will develop and oversee communication strategies, stakeholder engagement plans, marketing campaigns and events aimed at increasing SydWest’s profile and reputation as the key provider of services to multicultural community in Greater Western Sydney.
Critical to this role will be working collaboratively across business teams. You will build effective relationships at all levels of the business and develop a deep understanding of business needs and audiences.
We are looking for a communications professional with experience generating content for leaders, including speeches, presentations, executive briefs, opinion pieces and social content, as well as managing corporate communication initiatives like reports and events.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Tertiary qualifications in Communication, Media, Marketing, or other related field.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar Communication & Marketing role
- NFP sector experience is highly regarded
- Experience in developing, executing and evaluating communication plans essential Excellent
- Understanding of a wide variety of communication channels and techniques, including digital communications.
- Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal, change communication and project management skills
- Understanding of issues and reputational impact
- Highly organised and efficient
- Significant experience in managing marketing and communications teams
- The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- The ability to work in a small dynamic team environment
- Substantial experience and proven skills in managing communication, stakeholder engagement, projects, strategies and/or marketing campaigns.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead the Marketing and Communications team to develop and execute multichannel marketing communications to build brand awareness, business development and community engagement activities
- Lead all internal and external communications with staff, clients, families and external stakeholders
- Work with Executives to provide strategic counsel and guide the preparation of communication and marketing strategies and materials, including briefs, messages and presentations
- Work with business unit teams to develop a deep understanding of their business objectives, issues and opportunities
- Support key projects, events and initiatives by developing and advising on communications approaches to enhance team member and stakeholder engagement
- Identify external opportunities for thought leadership, including the drafting of key
- messages and briefings for the executive and other spokespeople
- Explore new media opportunities to increase awareness, reach and engagement for SydWest
- Monitor the budget of communications and marketing projects, and keep the CEO and COO advised to ensure activities are managed within the allocated budget and timeframes.
- Lead and monitor the creation content of reports, submissions, policies, correspondence and briefs.
