Psychosocial Support Worker

We are currently seeking mental health support workers to service our rapidly growing community.

Help vulnerable people gain the skills and capabilities they need to gain their independence and participate in various community and societal activities.

We are a thriving organisation that takes pride in enabling choice, inclusion and achievement for people with mental health conditions. As a Sykee Support Worker, you will have the freedom of scheduling your own hours, working independently with your clients, and access to training, guidance and advice from our in-house specialist Counsellors and Psychologists. Starting off as casual / part-time, with the option of moving into a full-time role. Progressing your career in Psychology and Psychotherapy with Sykee is also an option made available to successful Sykee Support Workers.

About the role:

Our head office is located in North Sydney but we service areas as far as Berowra, Cronulla, all the way out to the Blue Mountains, and all areas in between. We ensure you get work within 30 minutes of where you live, or less.

Typically the role includes:

  • Offering mentoring, companionship and social support
  • Assisting clients with community re-engagement and therapy coaching
  • Transporting and accompanying clients to and from appointments
  • Working individually with clients to assist and achieve therapeutic goals.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Degree / Diploma in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, Community Services or other mental health disability and care related qualifications.

AND/OR

  • Previous experience working with people that have mental health conditions.

Essential requirements:

  • Patience and a compassionate nature to help others
  • National Police Check
  • Working With Children's Check (if applicable)
  • A current Australian Driver’s License and access to a reliable car
