About Tandem

Tandem was established in 1994 and is proud to be the trusted voice of family and friends in mental health in Victoria. As the Victorian peak body with a sole focus on the needs and interests of mental health carers, Tandem’s role is to provide leadership, coordination and knowledge for the organisations and individuals who are working to improve outcomes for Victorian people living with mental health challenges, their family, carers and supporters.

Tandem is committed to ensuring that the importance of the contribution, expertise, experiences and needs of family, carers and supporters is recognised and addressed, and that they will be essential partners in recovery, service governance and delivery, planning, research, and evaluation.

Your Role

As a Family Carer Peer Support Advisor, you will provide information and referrals, peer support, and non-legal advocacy to assist family, carers and supporters in navigating the mental health system and NDIS.

You will provide peer support via phone, in-person, and online, enabling family, carers and supporters to achieve better supports and be recognised and included as partners in recovery of the person they support.

This role also involves representing Tandem in sector forums, information sessions, and member meetings across Victoria to share knowledge, resources, and updates with the community.

  • A collaborative mindset, with experience developing relationships across services and organisations.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or Community Development).
